Our Wedding

Thank you for taking the time to access The Details. We are delighted to share some key information about our special day with you and truly hope you will form part of it! It would not be the same without you.

Our Wedding Day

Our wedding celebration will be a very intimate gathering of our immediate families including a very small group of close friends who have become family—and without whom we would not be who we are today. Although we dearly love your younger ones, space constraints require us to limit this celebration to older adults with a very small number of limited exceptions, such as our ring bearers and flower girl. Although a formal invitation with an R.S.V.P. will soon follow, we ask that you kindly let us know now if you cannot attend so we may plan accordingly.

Our Prayer Request

As part of our ceremony, we will include a portion during which we will ask all our guests to silently pray for us and our marriage. Regardless of whether you will ultimately be able to attend, we humbly ask that you begin praying for our marriage now—especially for God’s blessings upon it and for us to always glorify the Lord through our union as husband and wife. If you will be able to attend, please ask God (between now and our wedding day) to lay specific petitions on your heart for which married couples need prayer. During this portion of the wedding ceremony, we will ask that you offer those specific prayers to the Lord on our behalf at that time. Thank you!

Black Tie Preferred

We kindly ask that gentlemen dress in a black tuxedo. If doing so would not be possible, we ask that gentlemen dress in a black suit, white shirt, and a black bowtie or necktie. We kindly ask that ladies dress in a black gown. We truly look forward to celebrating our wedding with you!

Your presence, well wishes, and prayers are all we ask for on our special day. Should you wish to help us celebrate with a gift, we invite you to do so through our Honeymoon Fund link provided below in lieu of a traditional gift registry or, if you prefer, in person on our wedding day.

A "Honeymoon Fund?"

A honeymoon fund is a common alternative to a traditional registry because it allows guests to give something truly exceptional: lifelong memories. Giving to a honeymoon fund allows guests to make experiences like flights, a special dinner, or a once-in-a-lifetime excursion possible. A honeymoon fund also accommodates all budgets by allowing guests to give any amount that feels comfortable. If you feel funny about giving to a honeymoon fund instead of giving a traditional gift, that’s ok! We do not want any of our guests to feel uncomfortable. Please feel free to give us a physical gift of your choice if you prefer but, most importantly, please do not feel obligated to spend any money at all. Honestly, your earnest prayers would be the greatest gift of all, as the “LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.”~Psalm 145:18

Our Honeymoon Plans

Should you choose to contribute to our honeymoon fund, we thought you’d like to know a little bit about our honeymoon plans! As a couple, we have a great many things in common—that’s no secret. As a matter of fact, we believe our commonalities make us a better match for one another! We share a love of history, art, music, culture, jamón de bellota, Rioja wine, and afternoon naps. Come to think of it, we cannot not think of a better place to celebrate our honeymoon than Spain! We hope to begin our honeymoon in Madrid, then visit a few cities across the south of the Iberian peninsula such as Sevilla and Granada. We would love to visit museums, palaces, and other sites rich with heritage such as the infamous Alhambra. We would also be delighted to experience as much of the local culture as possible—especially music and dance. Afterwards, we would like to spend a day or two in Cadiz dividing our time between the beach and some of the local history. We sincerely hope our honeymoon will be a wonderful, memorable experience that will empower us to begin our marriage with a grateful, reverent spirit—allowing us to take some time to recharge and cherish our new beginning, while looking to the future with faith, joy, and above all, love.
